Usually the range of odds ratio is [0, ∞], this range also has a subset [0, 1]

The point I tried to make is if in some special cases the odds ratio lie between [0, 1] then log (odds ratio) is negative. Hopefully this may clear things a bit. Thanks for visiting !!
